The mood of a morning before the ceremony can vary greatly from wedding to wedding. I didn’t need to get to the door before getting an idea of the atmosphere inside. You could hear them talking and laughing all the way down the corridor. They hardly noticed that I was there, which I like. I kept out of the way while they set to finishing off. Great fun!
… and yet the mood can also be very calm, where the nerves are just below the surface. The large window was perfect to capture that still moment in time, with less than an hour before the ceremony.
This is why we have two photographers. I was with the bride as she was getting ready. Back at the church, the lads decide to venture up to the top of the church. Briony was on hand to not only see them up there but to arrange them for this shot.
I have a little trick up my sleeve to get a picture like this…. great fun to shoot.
This is why our unobtrusive style works so well. Everyone relaxes and will start to laugh and joke with each other and we are there to capture the moment!
It’s moments like this that are loaded with excitement and expectation as Dad is about to see his daughter, in her wedding dress, for the first time.
I love this shot, you can almost hear what they are thinking…
