I believe that, no matter how experienced you are in wedding photography, you should always be trying out new techniques and ideas.

And that’s what happened when I met Rachel and Adam the other day at Albury Park in Guildford, Surrey. We had some rotten weather that day. When we met, the light was fading fast. So we did some fun stuff with flash photography in the twilight.

Then we found this swing hanging from a tree by the lawn. Should make a stunning picture on the big day!

Albury Park won’t be a wedding venue for long as it is soon to be turned into luxury apartments. So it will feel extra special as Rachel and Adam will be one of the last couples to celebrate their wedding day there.

Star Wars Wedding Photography.

Michele and Trevor are one of THE biggest Star Wars fans I have ever met. It’s not every day, as a wedding photographer, you get to meet Darth Vader (Or should that be Lord Vader) at the church entrance. Neither was Michele! She got quite a surprise when she saw him at the alter!

The vicar was very relaxed about the whole ceremony and small church gave a wonderfully cosy feel to the whole proceedings. The day certainly wasn’t short of laughs and everyone had a great time at Michele and Trevor’s Star Wars wedding.

…. and we may have added a few “Special Effects” to one or two of the images….

When we were booked to be the wedding photographers at Michele and Adrian’s wedding at Merrist Wood Golf Club, Guildford, Surrey, we expected to see a few bunkers and the odd water feature on the course.

However, on the day, we had the most wonderful weather and found this lovely fountain and boat house on the course. The setting sun and warm breeze made for a fun and relaxed atmosphere and they both immersed themselves in the fun and romance of their day. I think it really shows in their wedding photos.

Although the ground was a little soft, Adrian was willing to do his bit to get Michele into the right place without getting any dirt on her shoes… and Michele didn’t object to a little bit of chivalry!

“Real People Photography stood out for us from all its competitors as they offered a little something extra to the standard wedding photography package.

We met Darren early on a Saturday morning in November at our chosen venue, the weather was rather wet and miserable and Darren had travelled from his home some 60 miles away for our first meeting. It certainly didn’t dampen his spirits as he came across as extremely personable and enthusiastic as we walked around the venue. He took time in listening to our requirements and added plenty of wedding photography ideas himself.

On the big day Real People Photography blended in very well amongst the wedding guests and captured some amazing natural shots. He is very much a ‘people’ photographer, bringing out the character, personalities and warmth in all his subjects with impeccable timing.

The Photo-Booth option, which Real People Photography also offer, was a fantastic idea which tagged very nicely onto the end of the day, enabling our friends and families to make the most of having professional portraits taken in a studio environment beit formal or fun, it certainly went down very well and finished off the day very nicely.

Overall we were very impressed with the results and thought the DVD was put together beautifully. We would highly recommend Real People Photography.”

Anything the boys can do....

What a wonderful day for a wedding!

It was one of those days when you were glad the weather men had got it wrong. We were recommended to Liz and Derek off the back of the wedding photography for Kirsty and Tobie in the summer. When I met up with Liz on a cold and damp winters day, we talked a lot about using the charm and the character of the interior as the backdrop for their wedding photos. When the wedding day came there wasn’t a drop of rain. It was a cold and crisp November, which meant outdoor wedding photography as well as indoors!

Liz loved the feeling of being treated like a star for the day.

I’m a wedding photographer because I love a good wedding and the fun and romance of the big day. It was such fun, and a privilege, to be surrounded by a wonderful bunch of people who enjoyed their day.
