It was a cold and frosty morning when I met Philippa and Anthony at The Mill House Hotel. But, what a frost! It was one of those frosts that lasted for a whole morning so were able to grab some frames of the two of them among frosty grass and trees. To top it all, we had some wonderful sunshine.

Then Philippa took off her ring and we photographed it among the tiny icicles!

We had great fun at The Mill House Hotel on what could have otherwise have been a drab January day.

Being a working school during term time, Bradfield College only allow for a limited number of functions to be held there. What an amazing place to celebrate a wedding! Plenty of space for the wedding breakfast and the party afterwards. It was easy to escape to a quieter room for those who wanted to talk. They even hired our “Photobooth” and brought in their own inflatable instruments.

Such fun!

I remember my first meeting with Rachel and Michael when they were first looking for a wedding photographer. “We don’t really like having our photo taken. In fact we haven’t got a single photo of us together”. There was a pause as they waited for a reaction. I get this a lot when I meet couples. The surprising thing is that I have only had one couple who were super confident about having their photo taken. My solution is simple. Just enjoy the day and your pictures will be fine.

They soon relaxed when we met for a second time at The Cantley House Hotel for their pre-wedding shoot. There is no mystery around what happens on a shoot. We just chat and I shoot some images, it’s all very informal. In fact, on the day itself, they were so relaxed; their natural sense of fun took over. We had a real laugh capturing special moments of Rachel & Michael, and their friends, enjoying a wonderful wedding day.

I was really excited to be booked as wedding photographer at Wasing Park. It’s a relatively new venue, but has already won a “Best Venue” award and shortlisted for another.

I always reassure couples to just enjoy their day and we can capture the moments. Wasing Park has a lovely church within the estate and well tended gardens, Claire and Adam soon relaxed into their day. It’s always nice to spend a few moments away from the madness, and we used this time to take some shots of them around the gardens.

A wonderful couple with a natural sense of fun!

For me, as a wedding photographer, this has to have been the most perfect outdoor wedding. Surrounded by wheat fields on a warm summer’s day. From a wedding photography point of view the canopy they hired protected the congregation in the unlikely event of bad weather. It also filtered any harsh sunlight perfectly to give us the ideal conditions to capture softly lit images of the ceremony.

A quick walk around the grounds was just perfect to capture some natural shots of Debbie and Gavin. Then Gavin got the lads put on their shades for some cool shots in front of the main house.

During the wedding reception, in the barn, there was a real party atmosphere.

Such a fun evening!

Dakota and Jaysukh.

I’ve sat here and written many unsuccessful versions of this wedding photography blog post to try and describe the day. Instead I’m going to tell it as it is.

Amazing colours! Dakota looked stunning in white and Jaysukh opted for a Sherwani. Many members of his family went for vibrant, traditional Indian wear.

Wonderful people. OK India was playing a big match ,so there was already plenty to talk about, but, wherever we looked, people were engrossed in conversation and enjoying each other’s company.

The best weather. Fluffy clouds, blue sky and a sunset to die for! We’ve shot many weddings at Aldermaston Manor and it’s just perfect for days like these.

… and we had the “job” of capturing it all at Aldermaston Manor.

From a wedding photography point of view, the wonderful thing about The Blue Mountain Golf Club is that all the best part for shooting wedding photos are only a few steps away. We were able to shoot a variety of images and only ever be a few meters away from the main building. Such a fun day!

I love the transformation you get before and after a pre-wedding photo shoot.

This shoot was with Claire and Adam at Wasing Park. It’s an ideal opportunity to get to them a bit more and look round Wasing Park, to work out what types of shots will suit them. It’s very common for couples to feel slightly apprehensive at first. However, there’s no mystery to photography, we just chat and shoot some images as we walk round. Once they see a couple of their images on my camera, they soon relaxed into their shoot.

They went away confident that they will look great in their wedding photos. And because they chose Wasing Park, which also has some wonderfully designed interior, we can shoot some lovely images outdoors or in!

Joanne and Jits.

What perfect weather for April wedding photography at Aldermaston Manor. Not a shower in sight. Lots of sunshine, and a bit of cloud, to ensure it wasn’t too hot. Such a great mix of people too. Such a relaxed feel to the day too. Joanne and Jits really relaxed into the day and thoroughly enjoyed themselves and that came through in the wedding images we shot.

I’ve been to this venue a number of times and always look to try something new. The lads did a sterling job jumping off this tree stump to make this fun shot!

As a wedding photographer, you always look forward to covering someone’s special wedding day, but we were pretty excited about this one….

When I first met this Vickie and Ross, they were a fun couple. “This’ll make for some lively wedding photography” I thought. Great! Then they showed where their wedding was being held, Wellington College. Such a stunning venue to celebrate your wedding day. Wow! But nothing prepared me for the day itself. Wedding guests who were having the time of their lives, a wonderful venue, great weather (Well, OK, there was that 20 minute downpour, but they were just about to sit down for their wedding breakfast anyway!) and the PhotoBooth went down a storm! Wherever we pointed our cameras, there was a special moment to be captured.

It really was a wonderful day to be “working”!
