We like travelling all over the country to cover someone’s special day, but it’s nice when a wedding is on your doorstep. The village of Kingsclere is a 5 minute drive from where we are based, yet it was the first time we shot a wedding there. I love it when a church has a balcony, as it’s a wonderful angle to capture the bride’s arrival. Dawn exercised her prerogative to arrive “a tad late” with her Dad but they charmed the vicar and it was such a wonderful service. Church readings don’t normally get laughs but this one did.

Wedding photography at Sandford Springs Golf Club meant a few images around the course. Dawn and Richard couldn’t wait to jump into a buggy and drive around the course. We had such fun shooting natural images as they enjoyed some time together away from all the madness.

To keep our approach fresh we always like to try new ways of shooting images. If you’re reading through the blog posts, you’ll see that we’ve shot a lot of sunsets this year. But the sunset at Dawn and Richard’s wedding is one of my favourites.

Wedding Photographer – Pitt Hall Barn – Hampshire

We had a wonderful time shooting Lucy and Seb’s wedding at Pitt Hall Barn and within the estate itself. And what a great choice for a wedding car!!

One of the wonderful things about where I live is that you get to meet such wonderful a mix of people. Lucy and Seb are one of those couples who completely embrace the countryside around them. This wedding photography commission was a local affair. Their wedding ceremony was only a five minute walk from my house in our village church and the wedding reception was at Pitt Hall Barn.

I loved the way they went for something different in choosing their wedding car (See image below). Although their journey, between the church and Pitt Hall Barn, was slower than other modes of transport, they had much more fun. They had plenty of time to consume the champagne on board! Such a fun day which shows in their wedding photography and the bride and groom wedding images we shot within the farming estate.

Wedding Photographer – Aldermaston Manor.

What perfect weather for April wedding photography at Aldermaston Manor. Not a shower in sight. Lots of sunshine, and a bit of cloud, to ensure it wasn’t too hot. Such a great mix of people too. Such a relaxed feel to the day too. Joanne and Jits really relaxed into the day and thoroughly enjoyed themselves and that came through in the wedding images we shot.

I’ve been to this venue a number of times and always look to try something new. The lads did a sterling job jumping off this tree stump to make this fun shot!

Wedding photography for winter weddings can be like great comedy, it’s all about the timing!

We are used to working in dark churches, but there is usually only a small window of opportunity to shoot any outdoor wedding photos before the sun disappears behind the horizon for another day. This is where a pre-wedding shoot comes in handy. As well as getting to know Nicky and Alex a bit more and taking pictures around the grounds of Oakley Hall, we realised that they would have less than an hour, after the service, before the sun went down.

On the big day we had great weather. Not a drop of rain and just a few clouds in the sky. After the service, everyone headed off to Oakley Hall and we were ready for them! We knew exactly where to shoot some natural wedding photos and get the most out of the evening sun. We even managed to get a shot of the lads under the floodlit tree in the last few minutes of sunshine!

It all makes for some fun wedding photography at Oakley Hall and an enjoyable day for the bride and groom and pictures they can look back on in years to come.

We had such a fun time at Alice and Jim’s wedding at Audleys Wood!

With it being a winter wedding you can’t always rely on the weather. That never fazes us as I believe those darker winter afternoons just add to the ambiance of the day. When shooting wedding photos outdoors, you get the warm glow of of the lighting from the main building at Audleys Wood.

Once again our Photobooth also proved a big hit with some funny messages for the Alice and Jim as well as some warm wishes as they begin married life together.

One good side effect of the nights drawing in is the superb evening light. You get those lovely skies and really soft light on the face. And you can’t hang about when the sun is setting!

Luckily, being a wedding photographer, I’m used to working to a tight deadline. Also, it was pretty lucky that Oakley Hall is a short distance from the church where the wedding ceremony will take place. And even luckier, as both these venues are pretty much a stones throw from the studio!

Carolyn and Paul – Hampshire Wedding Photography at The Pitt Hall Barn, Ramsdell, Basingstoke.

We had the promise of Bluebells and they came out right on time for Carolyn and Paul’s wedding day. It made for some wonderful wedding photographs.

The woods themselves are situated within the grounds on The Pitt Hall Barn. It’s wonderfully characterful inside and made for a fun and informal wedding day. It’s also a date Paul won’t forget in a hurry as it’s also his birthday!

It’s also a great venue for a wedding photographer, as we can easily blend into the background to capture natural images of people enjoying the day…

Miranda and Mark – Hampshire Wedding Photography – The Elvetham

When we were invited to be the wedding photographer at Miranda and Mark’s wedding at The Elvetham we were pretty excited for a couple of reasons;

Miranda and Mark were lovely couple, full of enthusiasm for their big wedding. During the months leading up to their big day, we got to learn a bit about their personalities and their plans for their wedding day. They wanted wedding pictures that were as natural as possible and captured the spirit of their day. They were also happy to stand out, at night, for the moment the fireworks were set off. In any January evening, this is a pretty brave thing for a bride to do in her wedding dress. But, this January, just after “The Big Freeze” we were very impressed that they stayed out there for the whole event in sub-zero temperatures so that we could photograph their wedding fireworks. I think it came out pretty well.

The Elvetham makes for a stunning backdrop for wedding photography. The venue has a wonderful team, working in the background, to ensure the wedding runs smoothly and everything is just right.

Wedding photography that captures natural images.

We did a lot of wedding photography planning leading up to the day so that we were fully prepared for sun or rain … and even snow (And we had a lot of that only week before their wedding!). On the day though, we had the most wonderful weather, and a wedding party that proved great fun to photograph.
