My husband and I did’t have any experience in holding events and the wedding was a big chaotic experience moving from one unknown to the other. Darren was welcoming, approachable and grounding. He took our half pieced together ideas and wishes and turned them into an amazing collection of formal and informal photos, all of incredibly high quality, through which we are able to relive our day over and over again. People talk of capturing the moment and I don’t think I really knew the meaning of that until I saw our wedding photos!

When you book a photographer your main focus is on having a good wedding album at the end of it. However, with Real People Photography we got so much more than that. From a fantastic amount of support and strong communication before the event so that on the day we were confident and comfortable with what we would need to do and how Darren would fit into the celebrations to a great follow-up which meant that when we went through the final product with Darren at the studio it was like visiting a friend.

Miranda and Mark

When we were invited to be the wedding photographer at Miranda and Mark’s wedding at The Elvetham we were pretty excited for a couple of reasons;

• Miranda and Mark were lovely couple, full of enthusiasm for their big wedding. During the months leading up to their big day, we got to learn a bit about their personalities and their plans for their wedding day. They wanted wedding pictures that were as natural as possible and captured the spirit of their day. They were also happy to stand out, at night, for the moment the fireworks were set off. In any January evening, this is a pretty brave thing for a bride to do in her wedding dress. But, this January, just after “The Big Freeze” we were very impressed that they stayed out there for the whole event in sub-zero temperatures so that we could photograph their wedding fireworks. I think it came out pretty well.

• The Elvetham makes for a stunning backdrop for wedding photography. The venue has a wonderful team, working in the background, to ensure the wedding runs smoothly and everything is just right.

Wedding photography that captures natural images.

We did a lot of wedding photography planning leading up to the day so that we were fully prepared for sun or rain … and even snow (And we had a lot of that only week before their wedding!). On the day though, we had the most wonderful weather, and a wedding party that proved great fun to photograph.
