From start to finish, our experience of Darren Wingham as our Wedding Photographer was totally amazing. He was professional and courteous and altouugh my husband and I used to hate having our photographs taken, Darren instilled confidence and poise in us both!

On the day itself, he was prompt and kind – even taking the time to photograph my very heavily pregnant hairdresser and our dog! Nothing was too much trouble and he was fanstasic in his dealing with us and our large wedding party. No-one felt that he was intrusive in his approach and they enjoyed posing when asked!

When we saw the photos, they brought us to tears – the whole day was brought back to us in beautiful pictures. The music overlaying the dvd was so appropriate and very cleverly done!

I would thoroughly recommend Darren and Real People Photography to anyone – so glad we found him to capture the magical moments of our special day!

“Before the big day Darren was completely flexible and receptive to our ideas, which made him stand out. This made him particularly easy to work with during a high stress time. He took time to understand exactly what we wanted and then offered suggestions which helped enormously, and came up with some really artistic ideas.

He was fun and easy to work with on the day and stayed unobtrusive. He was also flexible to our changes plans on the day itself.

We expected a long wait to see the shots but we were pleasantly surprised to see the pictures quite soon afterwards. “Real People Photography stood out for us from all its competitors as they offered a little something extra to the standard wedding photography package.

We met Darren early on a Saturday morning in November at our chosen venue, the weather was rather wet and miserable and Darren had travelled from his home some 60 miles away for our first meeting.  It certainly didn’t dampen his spirits as he came across as extremely personable and enthusiastic as we walked around the venue.  He took time in listening to our requirements and added plenty of wedding photography ideas himself.

On the big day Real People Photography blended in very well amongst the wedding guests and captured some amazing natural shots.  He is very much a ‘people’ photographer, bringing out  the  character, personalities and warmth in all his subjects with impeccable timing.

The Photo-Booth option,  which Real People Photography also offer, was a fantastic idea which tagged very nicely onto the end of the day, enabling our friends and families to make the most of having professional portraits taken in a studio environment beit formal or fun, it certainly went down very well and finished off the day very nicely.

Overall we were very impressed with the results and thought the DVD was put together beautifully.  We would highly recommend Real People Photography.”

“From the moment we met Darren he filled us with confidence that he was a wedding photographer that understood what we wanted and had the expertise to deliver it. We wanted lots of candid shots that captured the moment of the day and he managed this better than we could’ve ever expected.  He took time to meet us at both wedding venues to make sure he knew what wedding photography shots we wanted on our big day.

On our wedding day he was excellent. He had the people skills to build rapport with everyone, making us all feel relaxed. He also went above and beyond what we expected of him. For example, when the reception was starting I told him he could go home but he insisted on staying and getting a few more pictures. Later, he grabbed Adam and I to take us outside to get a fantastic shot with the sunset behind us. That photo ended up on our thank you cards and we’ve had so many compliments about it.

“We found Real People Photography fantastic to work with. Darren was so accomodating and spent time with me at the venue looking for the best place to set our photographs, asking staff how the grounds would look at the time of the wedding.

After the formal photographs we really can’t remember the photographs being taken which resulted in some of the best images of people being relaxed and enjoying themselves.  Darren’s enthusiasm from start to finish was fantastic and he made us feel so comfortable that we had no doubts or worries.  Darren was the first and only photographer we spoke to we felt so confident that Darren “got” us!”

“Our experience of Darren, well…. with him you do not just get a wedding photographer. He was so supportive on the day and especially the run up to it. From the first time we met him, he became more of a friend while still keeping professional.

We went with Darren because, when we met him, he did not pressure us and was just so  ’normal’. Every other photographer we saw could not stop talking about themselves and did not seem to really care about our day just wanted to show their photography. But not Darren. He chatted for hours about our day with us and the amount of times we rang him in the run up, I am surprise he still wanted to do the wedding!

Darren was amazing with the children and even got smiles out of the most difficult ones. More importantly he was amazing with us, was not in our face all day, went with the flow and was so flexible.

The photo’s themselves well, they are just incredible! Darren brought his assistant with him and she was absolutely lovely and just blended in. We couldn’t tell the difference between the images she took and Darren’s (sorry Darren).

“As well as being an amazing photographer, Darren is also extremely good with people and clearly loves capturing special moments. The main thing we wanted was a balance of natural shots and structured shots. Some of the best moments are those when people are laughing or smiling naturally, and Darren captured all of these throughout the whole day.

Darren is not at all pushy with people and had a very good nature with the little children who were overly curious about his camera – letting them look at it. Absolutely everyone I have spoken to who was at the wedding praised him, not only due to the outstanding photographs taken (which do capture the whole day), but also because of his friendly nature. It makes such a difference having a photographer who genuinely wants to be there to shoot great photos, and also enjoys the day.

Darren was a pleasure to work with from the moment we first made the enquiry to the date that we visited his studio to see the final images.

The biggest plus initially was that out of the dozen or so enquiries we made he was the first to come back to us and the first to visit us to show examples of his work. That said, he was not at all pushy.
At the planning stage he was very flexible in meeting our exact requirements and spent as much time with us and at the venue as was needed.
On the day itself he arrived while we were having breakfast, didn’t leave until mid way through the evening and was ‘snapping’ away all the time.
The end result………………..fantastic.
